  • Vassiliki Karayanni demonstrated effortlessly her great class by performing Gilda, Rigoletto’s daughter, a role that absolutely suits her in every respect. She combines appearance and voice and she could star in the biggest theaters of the world. As Gilda, she gifted us the «Caro nome» in a memorable way.

  • With the aria of the Queen of the Night, Vassiliki Karayanni was the Queen of the Night on the 4th of November 2015, the eve of the 224th anniversary of the death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The tone of her voice subjugated the role, despite the «rough» of the aria. Having proved her talent and work many times - from Norina to Don Pasquale (in the production of G.N.O. on 2004) to more recent appearances- , she invades the scene and adds brilliance and power to the flawless production of Magic Flute.

  • On the other end of the spectrum Vassiliki Karayanni proved once again her artistry and her inner musicianship. Her portrayal of Amina had many psychological levels, she is a girl, but she is also strong, willful and a more complicated personality than it seems at the surface. Her singing brought to out the complexity of the character, it’s subtle nuances, it’s emotional rollercoaster all expressed through the music and impeccably sung proving once again what a great singer and artist she really is. Her “ah non credea mirarti” was sung aux bout du souffle with exquisite pianissimos and a lyrical melodic line. The final cabaletta gave her the chance to display her impeccable coloratura, and her strong high notes. A memorable performance in all counts.

  • She has been applauded in the most important theaters of the world, following her instinct, namely what her soul always demanded and what each soul asks for from art: the uplift through the journey of emotions.

  • The demanding role of Lucia was taken by the Greek coloratura soprano Vassiliki Karayanni, who is the leading coloratura in Greece. She handled the role with her usual panache, professionality and absolute dedication to the music. Her Lucia was tormented, angry, forceful and dramatic. Her singing was impeccable with absolute ease to the coloratura demands of the role. Her high notes were clean and strong, her voice has acquired a darker color which was a plus to her performance. The mad scene was one of the best I have heard of this role, the voice was supple yet forceful and dramatic. One of the best Lucias I heard.
